I recently sent the following email to Mars Hill Church regarding our crowdrise fundraising initiative, which has already raised 17% of our total goal in only 3 days!
While getting a hold of Pastor Mark Driscoll in person remains a difficult chore, myself and others have been reaching out to him via social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, other members of the press have submitted press requests with Mars Hill Church, asking for an opportunity to get Mark Driscoll on record as to whether or not he will participate in a Christian Peacemaker Team delegation so that he might experience Christian Pacifism for himself.
I wanted to make this email open to the public, so that everyone involved would know that I have reached out to brother Driscoll in a personal, as well as public manner. Here is the email:
Although you seem to have settled the issue of Christian Pacifism in your recent sermon on why Jesus is not a pansy, I’d like to personally invite you to participate in a non-violent peacekeeping mission in the name of Jesus, via Christian Peacemaker Teams International, so that you can experience what Christian peacemaking is all about for yourself.
Pastor Driscoll, if you decide to accept this challenge, I want you to know it is offered in a spirit of peace and reconciliation. I will be the first to join you on the particular CPT delegation you choose to participate in. It only seems right given the fact that I’ve been fundraising to send you if you so choose to accept.
